The California Workforce Investment Board (CWIB) was established under the auspices of California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (L&WD), to assist the state in meeting the requirements of the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA).
The California Workforce Investment Board provides guidance to 49 local workforce investment areas. Each local area administers local One Stop Career Centers as well as significant job training for business.
